Silex1 and Silex2, Lyon

In the heart of Lyon’s Part-Dieu business district, Covivio is regenerating the urban fabric with two development operations: Silex1, the demolition and reconstruction of a 10,700m² premium office building, and Silex2, the refurbishment of the old EDF tower to create a highly connected 30,900m² building with space for offices and services. This programme aims to provide Part-Dieu with modern and innovative living areas and work spaces, whilst complementing the heritage and style of Part-Dieu.

Testimonial

Antoine Durand et Stéphane Royanez, MA Architectes, et Jérôme Le Gall, Arte Charpentier Architects.

“The main goal of Silex² is to build an extension adjacent to the north facade of the tower. This 130-metre-tall steel addition enhances the project through the strong structure of its gables and its slender silhouette – a bold sign in the Lyon skyline.”

Silex1, an artistic space

At the end of its demolition and reconstruction phase, Silex1 will offer 10,700m² of new office and service space spread over nine floors. Now fully occupied, Silex1also gives particular attention to services and well-being with 615m² of retail space, a 610m² garden and two landscaped patios of 100 m². Silex1also builds upon artistic tendencies with the signed Blue Cumulus piece by the New York SOFTlab studio hanging in the hall.

Silex2, demand for greater comfort

Silex2, scheduled for completion in 2020, offers a new urban and architectural form, whilst complementing the style and heritage of the Part-Dieu district. The innovative and connected Silex² building allows its occupants to manage their daily routines and comfort in real time using their smartphone. Silex2 is fully geared towards the user experience and also offers a premium range of services, combining the comfort of living and working for a healthy well-being.
