On the occasion of the 2023 SIMI, Covivio is organising a conference on the theme: “Do major cities still have a future?” Join us on Wednesday 13 December from 10am to 11am, room 242 A – Level 2.
Do major cities still have a future?
We are now witnessing a profound questioning of the attractiveness of large cities, to the extent that more and more city-dwellers are no longer hesitating to leave them to conquer suburban areas and medium-sized towns.
Faced with this phenomenon, how can we rethink the city to make it desirable to its entire ecosystem (residents, tourists, businesses, investors, etc.)? In practical terms, how do we strike a balance between urban density, quality of life and respect for the planet’s limits?
What are the prospects and obstacles to the reinvention of metropolises? Is there an ideal city size? Finally, do large cities still have a future?
To try and answer these questions, Covivio is organising an original conference-tribunal at the SIMI, in collaboration with the Usbek & Rica media, in the form of an hour-long oratorical joust during which various experts will compare their convictions and analyses on the future of large cities.
