Owned by Covivio since 2020, ICON by Covivio is one of Düsseldorf’s iconic architectural landmarks. Build in the 1970s, this office building is currently undergoing a facelift in order to house shops as well as offices offering a flexible working environment, concierge services, a gym, meeting rooms and green outdoor spaces promoting encounters and relaxation.

We are going to keep ICON by Covivio emblematic profile while transforming the interior completely in order to create a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose building. The ground floor shops will give the district a new lease of life. As for the office section, spaces will be rethought in keeping with new work practices with a strong focus on collective spaces and services. The renovation has also been designed in accordance with a virtuous, sustainable environmental approach.

Supporting artistic creation

As a signatory of the “1 Building, 1 Piece of Art” Charter, Covivio supports artistic creation to make it accessible to as many people as possible. In this context, we inaugurated the Digital Totem – a 9.75-meter-high LED installation in the foyer of ICON by Covivio in Düsseldorf – with REI, a video installation by artist Jobst von Berg. REI is a visual homage to the Rhine, Düsseldorf’s pulsating lifeline, exploring the eternal cycle of water and merging architecture with nature.
