Covivio was honoured to receive the "1 building, 1 piece of art" award for the piece of art “Objet 10”, signed by the artist Hugo Servanin, installed in CB21, the emblematic tower of Paris La Défense. This prize, awarded by the French Ministry of Culture, recognises 3 projects that stood out from all the other pieces of art installed as part of the “1 building, 1 piece of art” programme.
Every two years, these prizes are awarded to exemplary projects carried out as part of the “1 building, 1 piece of art” programme. Projects are selected based on their artistic quality, their integration into the building and their originality. The prizes are awarded by an artistic committee made up of professionals from the cultural sector.
On 16 December 2015, the Ministry of Culture launched the “1 building, 1 piece of art” programme, which committed its members to commissioning or purchasing a piece of art from a living artist for each of their buildings. Covivio joined the programme in 2017 before officially signing the charter in 2018. This initiative enables Covivio to make each of its buildings unique, to raise employees’ awareness of art and to make living and working spaces more dynamic. The Group aims to encourage the emergence of artists who put sustainability at the heart of their creative process.
By bringing art into our buildings to help the development of our users and living well together, Covivio perfectly illustrates its position as a player in living real estate. We are also committed to bringing these pieces of art to life outside the building, with a view to open up to the city.

Today, Covivio has 24 permanent pieces of art in France, 5 temporary art programmes in Berlin and 3 installations in Italy.
Hugo Servanin is a 31-year-old plastic artist who graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (EnsAD) in 2018. In his artistic practice, he mixes classical sculpture with contemporary technologies. These hybrid pieces of art are assembled using a variety of materials such as clay, ceramics, glass, resin, metal and other fluids. In 2022, Covivio invited EnsAD to design a piece of art for its CB21 tower. Hugo’s project won them over with its artistic approach, which establishes a strong link between art and the environment.
For his piece of art “Objet 10”, the artist has chosen to reinterpret Edouard Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe in 3 mural frescoes, each measuring 7 x 7 metres. The images that make up the frescoes have been generated by artificial intelligence algorithms and together form a mosaic with a kinetic effect. “Objet 10” makes the link between the Impressionist movement and artificial intelligence.
