Covivio, through its WiZiU hotel management platform, is continuing to roll out its development strategy as a hotel operator and announces that, as 1 May 2026, it has taken over the management of the Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport hotel, located in Brussels.
The hotel, owned by Covivio, was previously operated by IHG under a management contract. Covivio, via its WiZiU platform, is taking over direct management through a franchise agreement with IHG. This development marks a further step in the structuring and growth of WiZiU.
Ideally situated just 3 minutes from Brussels Airport and 15 minutes from the city centre, the Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport caters to both business and leisure guests. The hotel offers 315 rooms and several event spaces, including 18 modular meeting rooms totalling 790 m². Guests also benefit from a comprehensive range of services, including a restaurant, a lobby with a 24-hour reception, secure parking and a wellness area with a hammam and sauna.
With this new development, Covivio confirms its ambition to develop an integrated hotel platform that creates long-term value. WiZiU currently operates 25 hotels, 13 of which are located in Belgium. For Covivio, the aim is to continue and strengthen this momentum by taking the management of some of its hotel assets in-house, in order to optimise their operational management and performance.
